One of my regular clients Video Direct, commissioned a sales video to promote Fit4Less in Farnborough, a nationwide low cost-gym. I shot and edited the video in a very short timescale, a day! The client then sat throughout the afternoon and we edited the video. It was on the web the next morning. Because of the lack of controllable lighting, to give the video a bit more ‘punch’ I added some vignetting and composited this with an ‘Overlay’ screen effect, resulting in a lift of contrast and brightness.
Comissioned by BBC WebWise and produced by Red Nomad, this interactive online project aims to teach computer literacy to it viewers. The project has been nominated for two British Interactive Media Awards.
The project is a mixture of the latest Flash coding, video production, post production and video streaming technology.
My involvement in the project was green screen keying/subtraction and generating some special effects, and currently ongoing development in the latest compression techniques to stream the video over the web most effectively.
Look out on BBC WebWise in the next few months for the finished project!

A demo cut of a video produced for a Swiss Paragliding Course from Yomps, the adventure travel company. The demo cut is being used in order to commission further adventure travel video productions from Pixelblock.
See it in action on the Yomps Swiss Paragliding course webpage http://www.yomps.co.uk/trip-search/trips/12415/swiss-paragliding-pilots-course
This was also great fun to shoot, perhaps rivaling the Cotic shoot at times.. I’ll let you decide
All shot on Panasonic’s new Lumix TZ7, which supports AVCDLite, a new type of video compressor that allows HD to be compressed super small without too much quality loss. This format is a total dream to work with in Final Cut Pro!
Colour grading and shot stablisation took place on Apple Colour and Final Cut, and title designs with AfterEffects. Anyway, enough technical grab, sit down and enjoy the video; you’ll be booking next year’s course before the week’s out! See the Yomps website for more details.
Thanks to Hope and Social, published by Sunshine HQ, for the use of ‘Red Red Rose’.

While in Switzerland on a paragliding trip, I was approached by Singlespeed Rider Robbie Rickman and together we shot and produced this video for Cotic.
Editing and post-production took place on a comfy couch by the fireside, courtesy of the boys at Verbier Summits!
Probably the most we’ve ever had on a shoot… Bring on more!!
